P.S.

Today (well later on, more like Friday Evening) is the HS Retreat!
I am so excited to see what the Lord will do. I know He is going to bless camp beyond what we could ever ask or imagine.. Amen Lord! :)

Art, sunsets and randomness...

Above is a picture I took one day on my way home, the sunset looked beautiful!
(Above)This is a picture that Nick sent me one day when I was at work, I was having kind of a hard night and he didn't even know it but, when I got this it blessed me so much :) And Below is Nick :D before his new haircut...
So this is my art project that I left everyone in suspense over. The first is just the sailboat drawn out and the next is the final project.
You will be happy to know I got an A on my other two (the shoes, and purse drawing and also the dashboard drawing :) )

But just wait, my next is way harder and I am already not too impressed with the outcome... :/
This is my name in Greek, Partner (aka Daniel) wrote it for me. :)

Awesome Truth! Great reminder.

January 16

When Jesus understood it, he said unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial
Matthew 26:10-12

In Jesus’ time, bodies were anointed after burial in order to reduce the stench of putrefaction. But Mary anointed His body before He died because, just as David prophesied, she knew He would not see corruption, or putrefaction (Psalm 49:9). She knew He would rise again.

How did Mary know this? Peter didn’t understand it. John didn’t get it. Thomas, Andrew, Nathanael — they all missed it. Why did Mary understand what Jesus was saying? She didn’t spend nearly as much time in His physical presence as the disciples. She didn’t hear all of His teaching as they had. She hadn’t climbed the Mount of Transfiguration with them. Yet she had an understanding of what was really going on.

How? Revelation and adoration are intricately linked together. When you’re at the feet of Jesus Christ in worship, you see things that others don’t. You understand things others miss.

The most beautiful statue I’ve ever seen is a life-size granite carving of Jesus by Danish sculptor Thors Walden. Walden sculpted the body of Christ in such a way that you can’t see His face from a standing position. A sign next to the statue reads:

If you want to see the face of Jesus,
you must sit at His feet.

And sure enough, when you sit at the foot of the statue and look up, you can see His face perfectly.

To you who feel like you don’t see the Lord in your home, at your school, in your situation, my question is: How long has it been since you’ve sat at His feet?

This Daily Devotional is an excerpt from the book "A Days Journey" by Pastor Jon. "A Days Journey" is a collection of 365 short devotions from the New Testament.

Art.

So this semester I am taking an art class... I was actually pretty nervous about it bc well...im not an artist. Today we had to draw our shoe, a side view and view from above. I was wearing the shoes that Nick and I both have (aka the matching ones) and so this is what I came up with. I know its not good but...im kinda proud bc I expected much worse. And, we couldnt erase so this is what it is like without erasing or anything...anyway...expect more pics.. We also had to draw our backpack or purse. So I may post a pic of that one soon.
I'm kinda nervous though bc on Thursday I have to turn in a drawing of the dashboard of my car so...it looks like tomorrow I will be spending quality time in my car. So if you drive by and see me sitting in my car, thats why lol

Back to School...

Tomorrow we go back to School. I will be starting my last Semester of my Junior year in college! I cannot believe how fast it has gone by but at the same time it feels like I will be in school FOREVER! I know it will be worth it in the end but...eh....lol but anyway, these are my books, I spent only $390.32..... Not too bad, but as you can see they are all used. I don't mind though, I love getting used books, they are cheaper :) and because I went yesterday, I got all 6 of them used :)
Anyway... here goes another semester.

Adventures at Disneyland

So last Saturday Nick and I and Kendall and Justin went to Disneyland together. It was a lot of fun. We went on many rides and had a blast. Picture 1: Nick and I got matching shoes last week, they were on sale so, hey, why not lol :) but we wore them to Disneyland. They are actually really comfortable.
One of the funniest things that happened was when we went on the Monorail. In the second picture you will see Nick, yes he is in the drivers seat. So when we were getting on, we asked if we could sit up in the front with the driver, so when we got on the driver was not in there so Nick sat on the seat and I took a pic. When the driver sat down Nick asked if the chair was comfortable and she said "yes, very". Nick responded with "I bet" it was so funny because Kendall and Justin and I all knew he was sitting there about 2 min prior.  But anyway then he asked if he could honk the horn so when we arrived to the Disneyland station she allowed him to, he honked it twice as she had before but his second one was a little longer, I am sure he would have held it down much longer if Justin hadn't moved his hand. But it was so funny, and now Nick can say that he honked the horn and sat in the driver seat of the Monorail at Disneyland.
The third picture is Nick at the Sword in the Stone, right before he took it out of the rock ;)
Anyway, it was a really fun day, and it was nice to spend time with Kendall and Justin. We love hanging out with them, they are so funny.
